The Financial Aid Office at Southwestern Christian College (SwCC) is here to make higher education affordable and accessible. Our mission is to ensure students have the resources they need to pursue their academic goals while growing in faith and leadership.
With over 95% of students receiving financial assistance, SwCC offers a combination of scholarships, grants, and federal aid programs to support families. Our staff will work with you to determine eligibility and guide you through every step of the process.
SwCC offers a variety of scholarships and grants designed to reward academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to Christian values. These financial awards help supplement family contributions and reduce the cost of education.
Note: All scholarships, gifts, and awards must be approved in writing by the President’s Office.
Follow these steps to apply for aid at SwCC:
Before financial aid can be awarded, you must first apply for admission to Southwestern Christian College. The Admissions Office will review your completed application, including GPA, transcripts, and test scores. This information is also used to determine your eligibility for merit-based scholarships. Submitting your admissions application early ensures that your financial aid review will not be delayed.
To access federal financial aid websites and complete your FAFSA, you’ll need an FSA ID, which acts as your secure login. This ID is used to sign forms electronically and manage your aid records. Parents of dependent students may also need their own FSA ID. Create yours online at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid. For Spanish-language resources, visit the site’s En Español section.
The FAFSA is the key to unlocking nearly all types of financial aid, including federal grants, work-study opportunities, and many state and institutional aid programs. The application is free and can be completed online at fafsa.gov.
When filling out the form, you will need tax documents, W-2s, and records of income such as child support or benefits. Keep copies of everything you submit.
📌 Be sure to enter Southwestern Christian College’s FAFSA Code: 003618 so that our Financial Aid Office receives your application.
Within a few days of submitting your FAFSA, you’ll receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) by email. This report summarizes the information you entered and indicates your potential eligibility for aid. Review it carefully, and if you notice errors, correct them immediately. If you need help, you can contact the Department of Education at (800) 433-3243 or the SwCC Financial Aid Office.
In order for financial aid to be processed and awarded, you must be officially accepted as a student at SwCC. Be sure to complete all admissions requirements and confirm your acceptance. Financial aid packages cannot be finalized until this step is completed.
Once admitted, you will receive instructions to set up your POPULI account. This is the primary communication tool between you and the college for financial aid, course registration, and billing. Important notices regarding your aid package will only be sent to your POPULI account, so it’s critical to check it frequently. Within this system, you’ll also be able to review your financial aid awards and accept, reduce, or decline loans.
Some FAFSA applications are randomly selected by the Department of Education for verification. If this happens, the SwCC Financial Aid Office will request additional documentation such as tax transcripts, proof of income, or household information. Providing these documents quickly will help avoid delays. Please note that financial aid awards may change after verification. Updates will be sent directly to your POPULI account.
Financial aid awards may be updated based on verification or changes in your application. To avoid delays:
