Graduation Requirements

Associate Degree

To earn an Associate Degree at SwCC, students must:

  • Complete 62 semester hours of credit (excluding Basic Studies courses).
  • Maintain a minimum 2.20 GPA.
  • File a degree plan and complete required courses.
  • Complete at least 45 semester hours at SwCC.
  • Take the ETS Proficiency Profile Exit Exam.
  • Meet all financial obligations and maintain good moral character.
  • Participate in graduation exercises (unless officially excused).

Bachelor’s Degree

To earn a Bachelor of Science degree, students must:

  • Complete 131 hours of credit, including:
    • 53 semester hours of general education requirements.
    • 78 semester hours in required courses for the B.S. degree.
  • Complete at least 95 hours at SwCC (up to 32 may transfer from approved schools of preaching or unaccredited institutions).
  • Maintain a minimum 2.40 GPA.
  • Successfully complete two 1-hour internships (after 35 hours in Bible & Religious Education).
  • Pass the Religious Studies Division Exit Exam and ETS Proficiency Profile Exam.
  • Satisfy all financial obligations and maintain good moral character.
  • Participate in graduation exercises (unless officially excused).

Academic Programs

SwCC currently offers the following degree programs:

  • Associate of Arts (AA) – A strong foundation in liberal arts and Christian studies, preparing students for transfer or ministry.
  • Associate of Science (AS) – A flexible path emphasizing scientific and technical studies with a Christian worldview.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) – Advanced academic and spiritual preparation, with concentrations in Bible and Religious Education.
